each month, i will share a post to highlight some of my shopping trips. this is essentially to show everybody how i help our family save money.

an easy money-saving tip is clipping coupons. i started doing this last year. i print them from target.com, coupons.com, smartsource.com or redplum.com. also, most companies offer coupons in their websites or facebook pages. these coupons can either be printed or requested by mail. the sunday paper has a lot of coupon inserts as well. however, our region has very limited coupons so i don't bother buying it anymore.

in addition to coupons, i find good deals by reading blogs like thrifty & thriving, money saving mom, a thrifty mom, & couponing to disney. these are just some of my favorite blogs that have helped me immensely in my quest to be a frugal shopper.

another way i save money is shopping for items on clearance. my rule of thumb has been - if it's 70% or more, then its definitely worth checking out.

yes, it is black friday! everybody was out & about looking for the doorbuster deals. personally, i don't have to wait for this day every year to score great sales. shopping smartly all through out the year is a much better strategy for me.

this is my third year shopping during black friday. and my first to shop alone. {hubby & little girl were both sound asleep.}

it has been our practice to go after all the stores open. we never wait in line like a lot of people do. once i'm inside, i find the item right away. i scope out the check out lanes for the shortest line. i've been lucky enough to get out of the stores in half an hour or less.

extreme couponing is back on TLC! i have to admit that because of this show i was introduced to a lot of coupon websites & blogs. unfortunately our local grocery stores limit the use of coupons per item & they don't double coupons at all.

i do have a limited coupon selection. {my binder is very small}. i am mostly interested with coupons of brands that we use at home & of items i can get for cheap or free. and one important thing for me is to use the coupons before the expiration dates.
